LaFountain Design is a one-person design and e-commerce studio in Massena, New York. This policy explains what we collect through lafountaindesign.com, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version. We collect what you type into a contact form, and — only if you agree — anonymous analytics about which pages get read. We do not sell or share your information, we run no advertising trackers, and we do not build profiles on you.

What we collect
Information you send us
The contact and quote request forms ask for your name, email address, and your message, plus any optional details you choose to add about your project. Submitting a form sends that content to us by email and copies it back to the address you entered. We use it to answer you and, if we end up working together, to run the project.
Analytics — only with your consent
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 records pages viewed, approximate location at city level, referring site, and general device and browser type. It is aggregated and we do not use it to identify individuals. Google Signals, advertising features, and remarketing audiences are switched off on this property. If you decline, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, these cookies are never written. Full detail is in the cookie policy.
Security and delivery
This site sits behind Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses and request metadata to serve pages and filter malicious traffic. The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated spam. Our host, HostGator, keeps standard server logs. This processing is necessary to operate the site securely and happens whether or not you accept cookies.
Why we are allowed to process it
- Your consent — analytics cookies. Withdraw it any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.
- Steps prior to a contract — replying to your enquiry and preparing a quote.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the site up, secure, and free of spam, and retaining correspondence for our business records.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Information reaches only the service providers that make the site work:
- HostGator — hosting and email delivery.
- Cloudflare — content delivery, security, and Turnstile.
- Google — Analytics, only after you consent.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process data there. For transfers from the EEA or UK, our providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions and email — retained while the enquiry is active and for up to seven years afterwards as a business record, then deleted.
- Analytics — retained by Google for 14 months, then automatically deleted.
- Your consent record — 12 months, after which we ask again.
- Server and security logs — typically 30 to 90 days, depending on the provider.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email us to ask what we hold about you, request a copy, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to a particular use. We will not treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the EEA or UK you additionally have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection under the GDPR, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you have rights of access, deletion, correction, and to opt out of sale or sharing under the CCPA/CPRA — we do not sell or share, and we honour Global Privacy Control automatically. Comparable rights apply in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with equivalent laws.

Children
This is a business-to-business site. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how we use analytics, ask for your consent again.
